Herd Sire Berkshire Boar
We purchased this class winning purebred Registered Berkshire boar from the hog sale held during the Iowa State Fair from Chris Conover of Shady Brook Farm. SBF5 Pilsner 1-2, AKA "Pig Newton," as he is known here, possesses all the classic Berkshire traits but also has the eye appeal of a high quality show boar as well as an outstanding champion pedigree.

Templeton Rye was the 2014 Clay County Fair Grand Champion Boar
Rye's sire is currently housed at Swine Genetics International.
His littermate was the 2012 WPX Champion Gilt and he sired the top selling boar at the 2013 NBS. Rye's grandsire was the 2011 SWC Champion Berkshire boar "Justify." WT 347 BF.75 LEA 8.6 WDA 1.60

Our other Boar is lovingly known as "Mr. P.I.G." Mr. Pig, aka "Flame On" has added a bit more bone to our program, while still possessing all the great Berk qualities and good temperament.
