In this set you will receive (2) 6" size hand cards--an easy to handle size for a beginner or person with smaller hands & just the right size to be convenient to take with on the go--yet this card it is still plenty big enough to get the job done in a timely manner. 

The card has 120 teeth per square inch, the perfect amount for working with most wool types. The maufacterer of the cards we include is Howard.  Howard is one of the oldest & most trusted authories on hand cards. Each Howard hand card is formed with a gentle curve that compromises between flat and strongly curved cards, allowing for both styles of carding action. The handles are ergonomically designed to shape and fit,  light weight, easy to orient, sturdily attached to the carder back and finished with a warm hand-rubbed sheen.  These are a good set of cards that should last several years and see many, many rolags before needing to be replaced. This is our personal favorite hand card here at Sugar Ridge Ranch, we hope it will be yours too!

You will also receive 8 oz. of twice pre-washed & skirted 100% Pure Shropshire Wool. 

You can add the option to purchase our unique drop spindle for an additional cost of $24.00. This top whorl drop spindle is spoked for a one-of- kind of wagon-wheel look - reminiscent of those days on the ol' Bonanza. The spindle shaft is made of birch, while the whorl is made of ash. The whorl is 3 inches in diameter and the spindle is 3/8 of inch thick and about 12 inches in length. The spindle and whorl are hand rubbed in Danish oil and weigh approximately 1.2 to 1.5 ounces.
