This top whorl drop spindle included in this set is spoked for a one-of- kind of wagon-wheel look - reminiscent of those days on the ol' Bonanza. A unique addition to any spinner's collection! Top whorl spindles are easy to use for a beginner & with a little practice allow you to spin quickly and with a tighter twist. Many expert spinners prefer top whorl drop spindles for these reasons.

The drop spindle shaft is made of birch, while the whorl is made of ash. The whorl is 3 inches in diameter and the spindle is 3/8 of inch thick and about 12 inches in length. The spindle and whorl are hand rubbed in Danish oil and weigh approximately 1.2 to 1.5 ounces. Drop spindles are super convenient- you can take them just about anywhere & let your creative juices flow...the airport, the park, the doctor's office...anywhere!
